Q: I have applied in Journalism and Mass Communication subject for Maharashtra SET 2013 examination. Can you please brief me the syllabus for this subject?

A:  The examination of Maharashtra SET to be held on 17 February 2013 will consist of three papers in objective mode. The first paper will be based on Research and Teaching Aptitude while the other two papers will be subject -specific. The syllabus for the subject of Journalism and Mass Communication covers all the nuances of fields such as Print and Electronic Media, Advertising & Public Relation and New Media. • Chapter 4: History of different forms of media, small newspapers, development of radio and TV, Committees in broadcasting
• Chapter 5: Communication and theories of social change, Role of media in social change, development communication
• Chapter 6: Research methods, process & history, Communication Research-SITE, Mass Communication Research, techniques, process and tools
• Chapter 7: Colonial structure of communication, decolonization, international news agencies, Mac Bride commission, convergence of media, media policies in international context
