University Grants Commission (UGC) through its National Educational Testing Bureau conducts National Eligibility Test (NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian Nationals. The primary objective of this exam is to ensure minimum standards for the person entering in the noble profession of teaching and research. UGC has allocated a number of fellowships to the universities for the qualifying candidates to attain the award of JRF.
NET examination is conducted twice a year usually in the month of June and December by UGC and this time it will be held on 30 December 2012 (Sunday). The test will be conducted in 78 subjects including Humanities (including languages), Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science etc across 77 centres across India. From June 2012 onwards, UGC NET exam is being conducted in objective mode only. We at jagran.josh have compiled the detailed syllabus of all 78 subjects in the list mentioned below:
