Also, our education system needs to prepare the students for future, where AI will be more intrusive and shall be ingrained in more aspects of our lives. This also leads to a fear that AI will take away jobs. But humans will have to be on top of it, and use technology to make things better. We need to prepare the future workforce for ethical use of AI. And for that, we need courses to prepare the students for what the future might unfold. For instance, programming was earlier done by Computer Science graduates and engineers, but it is now being done by AI.Python programming enables one to just drag and drop and finish the job in no time.
Academia will need to devise curriculum in tune with changing times and keeping in mind the skillset that might be required in the future. Amid all the noise about Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science etc, it is important to understand these technologies. Such subjects are taught as dedicated streams during the B Tech courses or as specialization subjects too. Learning about design, analysis, collection, interpretation of numerical data, Data Science helps to understand and extract patterns with the help of this data and technology. Big Data tools like HADOOP, ETL tools, and visualisation of data using Python, Spectral Image Analysis, as well as AI/ML applications are used for analysis of data. The four years course will help the students to land jobs as Software Developer, Cloud Computing Engineer, Database Administrator, Data Architect, Metaverse Programmer Digital, Data Visualizer, Data Ecologist, Clinical and Pharmaceutical Analyst, Data Technologies Specialist, Financial Modeler,Full-Stack Developer, Digital Manufacturing Engineer and Machine Learning Engineer
Cyber Security is another subject that will require more skilled forces in the future. The internet has penetrated the entire population of the world and people are socialising as well as doing business here and also offering various services. However, miscreants have been and will try to find fraudulent ways, or use private information to blackmail people. A course in Cyber Security teaches students to protect computer operating systems, monitor systems, mitigate threats, safeguard networks and data from cyber-attacks. Remote Infrastructure Management enables students to manage computers and get hands on training with wired and Wi-Fi protocols. When such courses have CISCO certifications (CCNA and CCNP) and EC-Council certifications, it creates Network Security Engineer, Cyber Security Analyst, Cyber Security Architect, Cyber Security Manager, Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), Information Security Manager, Cyber Security Engineer etc.
Cloud Technology is another field that has emerged as the leading provider of computing services like servers, databases, storage, networking, analytics and also software. Its penetration is expected to grow manifold in the coming decade as businesses are swiftly shifting to it with different ways to use the same technology. A coursethat enables students to set up software management enterprise through cloud technology can prepare them to become an asset in the future. Universities are partnering with AWS to equip students with the required skillset, apart from running their own data centers. This will fully equip the future Cloud Engineer, Cloud Architect, Cloud Consultant, DevOps Cloud Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer, Data Engineer, Full-Stack Developer, Cloud System Administrator and UI Developer.
An undergraduate course in SOFTWARE AS A SERVICE (SAAS)Course is also likely to be in demand in the coming years. Such a course can help students to learn software engineering as well as project management skills with the help of CMS tools. They will be writing Software Requirement Specification (SRS), testing as well as deploying the software. This is an industry that is forever changing, thus one needs to be on their toes and adapt to new platforms. An education in SAAS can lead you with a job as Applications Developer, Cyber Security Analyst, Game Developer and Information Systems Manager.
Mobile Application and Internet of Things are also upcoming fields that can ensure that a student will never be out of job. The key is to be innovative, and have an open approach to new things. When one is ready to jump on to the challenges that life, and changing technology throws at you, you can expect to be truly successful. And AI will become a tool that will further create a roadmap to success rather than becoming a hindrance.
