Uttar Pradesh government decided to appoint Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) pass outs and Siksha Mitra, adhoc primary teachers in government schools on 23 July 2012.
The government came to the decision at a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav. The candidates, who passed their TET 2011, could now be appointed as teachers in schools run by Basic Education Department and aided and private schools.
The news is that, as many as one point twenty four lakh eligible Siksha Mitra bachelors would be provided training in two phases for a tenure of two years . This decision was taken by the cabinet.
Post the arrest of Director Secondary Education Sanjay Mohan for allegedly manipulating the list of pass outs, TET exams held during the reign of Ex Chief Minister Mayawati got into some severe brawl. The TET aspirants were holding agitations since then demanding that the examination should not be cancelled and those who had cleared it should be appointed as teachers.
With the government now deciding on to appoint the Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) pass outs , good news seems to be finally coming around.
