Eligibility
Admission can be taken in this courses right after class 12th but to get a degree or a diploma it is mandatory to be a graduate in any discipline. Short-term courses are also available in this discipline. If you want a job in a Television channel then Graduation is essential.

To be a good video editor one needs to be self-motivated, determined and dedicated to work. Along with evolved imaginative power and a desire to continuously strive for improvement in one’s understanding of technology, a successful video editor must also have a sharp eye and the ability to analyze issues critically. Opportunities
As per one estimate, there is going to be a demand for at least 50,000 trained video editors in the country in the near future. There will be a plethora of opportunities for those adept at using the editing software. After completing the course one can work for news or entertainment channels, production houses, web designing companies, music companies, film production companies or advertising agencies. There is also a good scope to work as a freelancer in this field. Short term contracts are also available in post production studios, television companies etc..
Fees
The fee for non-linear video editing courses differs from one institute to the other. Short duration courses cost up to Rs 35,000 while diplomas can be earned for approximately Rs 50,000. The fee for degree and master-level courses ranges between Rs 50,000 and Rs 2 lack.

There are three types of courses with durations ranging between three months and three years, Certificate Course in Non-linear Editing, Diploma in Video Editing and Sound Recording and Diploma in Post-production Video Editing.
