WBJEE Result 2017 has been announced (5 June 2017) on the official site of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) wbjeeb.nic.in. Students who have not checked their result can check & download their score card from this link. WBJEE 2017 was held on 23rd April 2017. This year, WBJEEB will be giving examinees marks in individual subjects along with their ranks, for the sake of transparency.
CBSE students outshine other board students in WBJEE 2017. Six out of top-10 rank holders of WBJEE 2017 have passed their 12th board exam from CBSE board. Not only this, about 47% students in top-10,000 rank holders are also from CBSE, as per the latest report by Times of India.
According to the TOI report, only 26 % of West Bengal Higher Secondary (WBHS) board students have secured their names in top-10,000 list. In this list, 13% were from the Bihar Board, 9% from ISC and 5% from other boards.

However, out of 1,00,976 examinees, 47% were from the HS Council, 25% from CBSE, 6% were from ISC, 15% from the Bihar Board, and 7% from other boards. WBJEE board chairman Malayendu Saha said that the board is thinking to analyse WBJEE 2017 result statistics.
Debaditya Pramanik from Birla High School for Boys (affiliated to CBSE) is WBJEE 2017 topper, securing 96 in maths and 94 each in Chemistry and Physics. Irin Ghosh from Durgapur stood at the second position in WBJEE 2017. This year, girls performed better as compared to boys. The WBJEE 2017 counselling process will begin from 12 June 2017.
