Feedback for providing information – Teachers at school share information with students to give correct method or procedure for performing a task. When feedback is provided to inform students then it is clearly told and does not require them to explore in detail. However, the person providing feedback for information to students must be aware of its implications and should have thorough knowledge only then the feedback will be helpful to students.
Also, the students need to be told about something they did wrong, this type of feedback is also information that students need to know. Moreover, along with feedback for information, the teachers can praise the students for their correct steps or something they did well in.
Feedback for correcting and providing right direction – When students have doubts they are provided with corrective measures to help them and to guide them in the right direction. The guidance provided by feedback is for helping students focus and work more on the problem so that they can get the right objectives.
Such feedbacks are helpful to students for life as they will be careful next time and will not be repeating the same mistakes again.
Feedback for complete understanding with logics – This type of feedback helps students in understanding where they are lacking understanding and reasons for their mistakes as well. This approach helps them get thorough knowledge about any concept so that they can understand it well. In some cases, the students may feel or get a different outlook on the problem and hence will not be able to solve it. But if provided logical reasons to understand the problem then they will be able to solve it with tricks accordingly.
Feedback for changing outlook and approach – Sometimes, students have a perception of certain things in general which may be not that helpful for them, therefore, they need to be provided with feedback to suggest different viewpoints for any subject or problem. This helps students to deal with a concept with a different approach. The feedback helping students with different outlooks on a subject also improves their critical and cognitive skills as they require thinking about problems in different ways.
