    In a developing country like India, where people have to work 45-50 hours per week and work around 2500 hours per year, but there are many developed countries in the world where per week working hours are very low. Despite this, GDP of these developed countries is much higher than India. In this article, we are giving details of 10 countries in the world where per week working hours are least.

    1. Netherlands

    Netherlands is at the first place in the list of countries where per week working hours are least. Low level of unemployment and high income are key features of working community in Netherlands. Netherlands' government supports balanced, professional and personal growth, apart from this, part-time jobs are encouraged by the government and protection is provided to such workers by law. In Netherlands, employees work approximately 1,380 hours per year, i.e. on an average 27.5 hours per week.

    2. Germany

    In the list of countries where per week working hours are least, Germany is at the second place. In 2009, in Germany working hours of employees were set approximately 1,290 hours per year, but in recent years, working time has been increased to achieve better results. At the present time, In Germany employees are working approximately 1,388 hours per year, i.e. on an average, 27.75 hours per week.

    Norway is at the third place in the list of countries where per week working hours are least. Norway has the most generous labour laws in the world. In Denmark, working schedules are flexible and there are advanced conditions for workers like- vacation payment, stress-free environment and timely salary arrangements etc. At the present time, in Denmark employees are working approximately 1,411 hours per year, i.e. 28.2 hours per week.

    6. Slovenia

    In the list of countries where per week working hours are least, Slovenia is at the sixth place. In the beginning of 2010, a new labour law was enacted in Slovenia, which protects the interest of the working class. Due to this new law, in Slovenia employees are currently working approximately 1547 hours per year, i.e. 31 hours per week.
