Rajasthan's Finance Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, Diya Kumari, is presenting the 2025 Budget in the state assembly today, February 19. She announced job guarantees for youth, new water and electricity projects, and plans for road development.
This is the second budget presentation for the Bhajan Lal Sharma-led Rajasthan government. The budget presentation began with the finance minister announcing the government's goal of making Rajasthan's economy worth $350 billion by 2030.
She added that the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had made records during its first term and was expected to reach a GSDP of ₹19,000 crore in 2025–2026.

Employment Opportunities
- 1.25 lakh government jobs will be provided next year to boost youth employment.
- 1.5 lakh private jobs will be arranged through job fairs and initiatives.
Water Supply Initiatives
- The Mukhyamantri Jal Jeevan Mission Urban will set up a total of 1,000 tube wells and 1,500 hand pumps
- ₹5,830 crore has been allocated for this project.
Power and Electricity
- Rajasthan will produce 6,400 megawatts of surplus energy to support 5 lakh new domestic electricity connections and 50,000 agricultural connections

Free Electricity Scheme
- Under PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme and Mukhyamantri Free Electricity Scheme:
- Households with solar panels will get free electricity up to 150 units.
- Community solar panels will be installed for low-income families.
Youth Innovation and Skill Development Initiatives
- A Skill Development Institute will be set up in Kota to help youth improve their skills.
- Bikaner will be developed as an Innovation Hub to promote new ideas and entrepreneurship.
