What is the Story and Significance of Maa Chandraghanta?

Maa Chandraghanta is the latter form of Maa Parvati. After performing penance for over 5000 years and becoming a Brahmacharini, Maa Parvati married Lord Shiva. While settling in Kailasha, she was watched by the demon Tarkasura, who believed that the son of Shiva and Parvati would be his downfall. To prevent this, Tarkasura plotted against Maa Parvati, and he also took the help of Jatukasur, a demon bat. Together, they attacked the Shiv Gana, causing widespread chaos.

To combat Tarkasura, Maa Parvati took the form of Maa Chandraghanta and fought off the evil. Worshipping Maa Chandraghanta on Day 3 of Navratri holds great spiritual significance. She is revered as the goddess who grants her devotees the strength to overcome obstacles and fear while guiding them toward peace and harmony.

Devotees believe that her blessings remove physical and mental sufferings, and her presence brings calm to the mind, helping individuals stay focused on their spiritual journey.

The third day of Navratri 2024, dedicated to Maa Chandraghanta, is a day of strength, peace, and protection. Her story reminds us that strength and serenity can coexist, and her blessings guide us toward a life of inner peace and protection from negativity.
