India posted a formidable total of 176, thanks to Virat Kohli's exceptional half-century, his first in the tournament. In response, South Africa faced early setbacks as Hendricks fell to a brilliant Bumrah delivery and Markram departed cheaply. However, Stubbs demonstrated impressive skill against the spinners, putting South Africa in a strong position after the powerplay. Although he was dismissed, de Kock and Klaasen formed a crucial partnership, with Klaasen unleashing a fierce attack, smashing a 23-ball fifty and taking Axar to the cleaners with a 24-run over. With 30 runs required off the last five overs, India's pacers conjured up a stunning comeback. Hardik dismissed Klaasen, followed by Bumrah's dismissal of Jansen, as South Africa wilted under pressure. Arshdeep bowled a phenomenal penultimate over, conceding just four runs, and Hardik Pandya sealed the game with a champion's flourish, securing India's victory by seven runs.
