JAC Class 11 Compartmental Exam: As per the decision made by the Jharkhand Academic Council Compartmental or special examinations will not be conducted for the students who fail class 11. This decision has been taken by the council in order to have only the deserving candidates take the class 12 Jharkhand Board Examinations.
This decision comes with close to 30,000 students awaiting their class 11 compartment examination. While speaking to the media, the Education Officer, Mahip Kumar Singh said that the students who have failed in one examination and have cleared four of the five subjects have also been promoted to class 12. However, there will not be any compartmental examination for the class 11 students. He also said that those students who have failed in more than one examination will have to repeat the year.
The board, after conducting the special examination last year is reverting to the former practice of the board which does not give an opportunity to the students who fail in more than one subject in class 11. The board has however stated that the class 8, 9 and 10 compartmental examinations will continue as per norms.
Apart from the 82.61 percent students from the 2.54 lakh who appeared for the class 11 examinations this year an additional 6.30 percent of students were promoted to class 12. The education officer also added that the overall pass percentage for class 11 is u89 percent which includes those who have been promoted. About 2.60 lakh students registered for the Jharkhand Board class 11 exam.
The 28, 703 students who have failed in more than one exam in class 111, however, consider the decision of the board to be unfair. A teacher from a government school said that the students have prepared hard for the exams and it is natural for them to feel disappointed since unlike the last year these students will not be given a chance to appear for the compartmental examination. The rules have been changing every year a formal notification released was released by the board regarding this.
