Delhi University, JNU to remain closed until 31st May 2020 following announcement of Lockdown 4.0

Delhi University, JNU Closed until 31st May 2020: As per the latest update, Delhi University has Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have announced that both the varsities will remain completely closed until 31st May 2020. Delhi University, JNU Closed until 31st May 2020: As per the latest update, Delhi University has Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) have announced that both the varsities will remain completely closed until 31st May 2020. The extension in closure of JNU and DU campuses comes following the announcement of Lockdown 4.0 announced by Central Government. Earlier on 18th May 2020 , University of Delhi issued a statement confirming that the varsity campus will remain closed until 31st May 2020. Later on, in the afternoon, JNU - Delhi-based central university also made a similar announcement citing the extension in the nationwide lockdown as the reason.

Students Asked Not to Return to Campus

Along with confirming that the university campuses will remain closed until end of May, both the universities asked their students to remain where they were stationed currently. The university advised students not to try and reach campus before the lockdown ends on 31st May 2020. A statement issued by JNU registrar read “Students are required to stay back where they are and should not return to the campus until further notice”.

Delhi University asks Employees to Install Arogya Setu App

On similar lines, in the official notification released by the Delhi University, the varsity urged staff members to install Aarogya Setu Mobile Application on their phones, which alerts them if they come in proximity of any person who is infected with COVID-19. The official notification read “The University shall remain closed for a further period of two weeks with effect from May 18 for containment of COVID-19 pandemic. Further, all the employees are requested to install Aarogya Setu app in their compatible mobile phones."
