
DU Admissions 2022 Update: With preparations underway for admission season for the next session, the University of Delhi has issued an important update about PG and PhD level admission process. For the 2022 session, Delhi University has adopted Central Universities Common Entrance Test, CUCET as the centralized admission test. However, CUCET 2022 will be used only to screen and shortlist admission to UG / Undergraduate level programme offered by the varsity. All PG and PhD level courses will see the admission process streamlined through university-specific DUET – Delhi University Entrance Test 2022. The announcement comes as an important update for all PG and PhD level candidates who were planning to apply for DU Admission 2022 this year.
Official Notification Confirms DUET for PG Admissions
To confirm the development, the University of Delhi has issued an official notification, which reads that the admission process for PG and PhD courses will be streamlined as per DUET 2022 exam norms. The notification issued by the varsity in this regard reads "It is notified that admissions to postgraduate and PhD programmes for the academic session 2022-23 of Delhi University shall be on the basis of Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) as per past practice. Further details related to admission shall be released soon."
DU Admissions 2022 for UG Courses via CUCET
Earlier, the University’s executive council proposed its decision to adopt the Central Universities Common Entrance Test, CUCET as the admission test for the admission process. Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh had also announced that the University will adopt a new way of admissions from 2022 by holding DUCET/CUCET 2022 this year. Thereafter, the varsity had formed an 8-member National Testing Agency, NTA Coordination Committee for the CUCET. The NTA coordination committee is headed by DU Registrar Vikas Gupta.
However, so far the university is yet to issue an official notification confirming adoption of CUCET 2022 as the entrance test for DU UG Admissions 2022. This will be confirmed by the varsity only when the admission notification is formally issued. Until then, students and applicants who want to join Delhi University should consider DUET / CUCET as their option for UG Admissions which will be followed by college-wise admission cut off.
