Engineering students throng DTE office after Centralised Admission Procedure glitch

Over 700 enraged students, who are seeking direction admissions in second-year in various engineering colleges in the Mumbai, throng office of Directorate of Technical Education's (DTE) after wrong allotment list in the second round was uploaded on the website due to technical glitch in the Centralised Admission Procedure (CAP). Aspirants were enraged as some of them were allotted two colleges while name of some others were missing from the list. Although the rectified list was uploaded within a few hours, it caused trauma to several students.

However, students claim that another goof up took place while uploading the rectified list. According to them, the colleges allotted to them in the second or revised list are not from their preference list. Angry over the glitch, several students and their parents reached at the DTE office in Fort demanding clarification.

According to reports, officials said that they are trying to rectify the error and assured them that new list will be declared very soon. Over 30000 students were allotted colleges in the second list which was updated within few hours. Students who have not been allotted colleges in the fresh list are up against the DTE officials and demanding an explanation.
