
ICAI Practical Training Deferred: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India i.e. ICAI has relaxed the rules regarding Practical Training for students who are due to appear for CA Final Exam in 2022 due to COVID-19. Addressing the concerns of several students who were due to start their practical training - which is a compulsory part of the CA Course, the ICAI has decided to give 1-month breather to the students and allowed them to star their training on or before 30th May 2020. The decision comes in the wake of nation-wide lockdown announced by the government to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic. Practical Training Deferred by 1 Month
As per the official notification, students who are due to appear for their CA Final Exams in November 2022 are required to start their practical training by 30th April 2020. However, this timeline has now been extended by the ICAI or Institute of Chartered Accountants of India - the Institute, which is the supervising professional body for Chartered Accountant education in the country. The decision has been taken as a “one-time measure due to the lockdown in the country on account of COVID-19 pandemic.”
ICAI CA May Exam 2020 Postponed
Earlier, ICAI also decided to postpone the CA Exams 2020 which were scheduled to be held in May 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic. The exams were delayed by the institute keeping in mind the safety, health and well-being of the students. According to the revised exam schedule released by the institute, the exams will now be held in June – July 2020. Originally, the CA May 2020 exams were scheduled to be held from 2nd May to 18th May 2020, which have now been postponed and will be held from 19th June to 4th July 2020.
