IIM Ahmedabad inaugurates 15th MBA PGPX batch online for 2020-21 academic year

IIM Ahmedabad 2020-21: Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad has inaugurated its 15th batch of MBA-PGPX programmes for the 2020-21 academic year online. The one-year postgraduate programme in Management for Executives was e-inaugurated by the Director, Professor Errol D’Souza due to the whole COVID-19 Lockdown situation prevalent now.

The new batch of students was greeted by the professors of the different courses of Indian Institute of Management in the online mode for their introductory session. While speaking at the e-inauguration, the Chairperson for the MBA PGPX course, Professor Viswanath Pingali said that the success in this programme will be the academic thoroughness and mental discipline. He also added that it was decided to take a small portion of the first term of the programme online keeping in mind the overall structure of the programmes which will enable the students to start when the campuses classes begin.he also pointed out that by the looks of the profiles of the current batch he is confident that the students will take the programme to new levels. 

Gender diversity was on the rise this year in IIM Ahmedabad given the candidates who have enrolled for the programme. The current batch of MBA PGPX is also diverse in the terms of NRI students and those with an international work experience which sums up 9.29 percent and 36 percent respectively. 

On of the new students for the MBA PGPX programme said that the course which is tough under normal circumstances works on shaping the students into something tougher than before. She also added that being able to withstand calamities and adapt under uncertain times along with being able to take the course to an unknown future ahead are the qualities which the institution will inculcate into the students this year.   She however also pointed out that the fact that the students of 2021 are the COVID-19 batch cannot be forgotten. 

The MBA PGPX programme was launched at IIM Ahmedabad in 2006 with more than 1500 students graduating from the MBA programme so far. Until 016-17, the intake of the MBA PGPX programme was 90. From 2017-18 one more section was added to the programme by the institution to enhance the learning experience of the students who have joined the programme. Since the new section was welcomed with a huge response from the students the institution continued with 140 students since last year.
