IIT Indore suspends Educational Activities: As per the latest update, Indian Institute of Technology Indore has decided to suspend all educational activities on its campus from 19th Nov i.e. Thusday, after 4 positive cases of COVID infection were found. The technology institute has suspended all academic activities on campus for next 7-days including laboratory operations. According to media reports, a total of 4 positive cases of COVID-19 were found on campus on Thursday, following which all educational activities on campus were suspended by the institute. Media reports have confirmed that of the total 4 cases, two cases are among students, while the other two are from staff members of the institute.
Confirming the news, IIT Indore’s Official Spokesperson Mr Sunil Kumar has said that, the institute is aware of 4 people on campus testing positive for COVID infection. However, he didn’t give out details of the person who were found to be infected saying that ‘details of the infected persons is still awaited.’
Reports from leading media agencies have also said that the 4 persons from IIT Indore, who were found to be infected, are currently under home-isolation and are completely stable. Following the detection of COVID positive cases on campus, a team of health department is sent to IIT campus for sampling and screening. Earlier, 6 more cases of COVID-19 were identified from IIT Indore, taking the total number of case tally from technology institute to 10.
