RTE admission 2025-26 Maharashtra: The Maharashtra School Education Department has officially announced the schedule for Right to Education (RTE) admissions for the 2025–26 academic year. This year, 25% of seats in self-financed, unaided, and municipal schools will be reserved for children from weaker and disadvantaged sections under the RTE Act.
Parents of eligible students can complete the application from January 14, 2025, to January 27, 2025, via the official website: student.maharashtra. gov.in.
Details regarding 25% reservation under the RTE Right to Education Act
As per the notification, children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and other disadvantaged groups will be provided with 25% reservations in various schools across the state, including self-financed and unaided institutions, police welfare schools, and municipal schools.
The reservation comes under Section 12(C)(1) of the Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, and aims to ensure equal educational opportunities for children from less privileged backgrounds.
RTE admission 2025-26 Maharashtra, How to Apply?
Parents who wish to apply for the 25% reserved seats under RTE must adhere to the following instructions:
Eligibility Criteria: Children whose parents have an annual income of less than Rs 1 lakh fall under the economically weaker section (EWS) and are eligible to apply.
Selecting Schools: While applying, parents must carefully select up to 10 schools for their child. The aerial distance from the school to the residence must be accurately calculated using Google Maps. The location of the residence should be set accurately using the balloon feature in the application portal, which can be fixed up to five times.

Accuracy of Information: Parents are urged to ensure that the details provided in the application form are correct, including home address, date of birth, income certificate, caste certificate, and disability certificate (if applicable). Any false information will lead to the cancellation of admission.
Submission Tips: The application form must be completed within the prescribed time frame. Parents are advised to apply early to avoid technical issues or delays caused by internet connectivity on the final submission day. Only one complete application per child is allowed—multiple applications will result in disqualification.
