Maharashtra SSC, HSC Exam 2022: Govt announces Exam Fee Waiver for Students who lost parents to COVID

Maharashtra state government has announced a fee waiver for the class 10 and 12 students who have lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The decision has been made as a relief for the students who have suffered losses in the pandemic. Check complete details here.

Maharashtra Board exam fee waiver

Maharashtra state government has announced a fee waiver for the class 10 and 12 students who have lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fee waiver has been announced for the students appearing for the Maharashtra class 10 and 12 exams scheduled for 2022.

Maharashtra state School Education Minister, Varsha Gaikwad in her announcement stated that the Class 10 and 12 exam fee waiver is a small solace from the department to the children who lost their parents in the pandemic. She further added that the department is aware that the students have gone through a lot already but their education must continue. 

According to a recent survey conducted by think tanks LIRNEaisa and ICRIER, Maharashtra was recently ranked highest in continuity in Education during the COVID 19 pandemic. The state was able to ensure that formal education is continued for 38 percent of the school-going children during the pandemic and lockdown.

 

 

 

School Reopening

The Maharashtra state cabinet has allowed the reopening of the schools for class 1 to 4 students in the rural areas and 1 to 7 in urban areas in the state from December 1, 2021. The reopening dates of schools in Mumbai have also been postponed due to the new COVID variant Omicron. According to the details provided, schools for students from classes 1 to 7 will now reopen on December 15, 2021, instead of December 1.

State governments across the country in the last year have taken measures for the education of the students who lost their parents in the pandemic. Governments have announced free education for the students who have lost one or both parents to COVID in the last year as a means to ensure that the children continue with their education.
