
The Central Board of Secondary Education is conducting an annual workshop preparing teachers on the new changes introduced in the curriculum and the changes in the exam pattern for the class 10 and 12 board examinations to be held in 2020. Changes have been incorporated by the board in the exam pattern which will be implemented in the 2020 board examinations for 10th and 12th.
According to the new marking scheme which has been shared by the board for the class 10 and 12 examinations there will be 20 marks dedicated to objective type questions. Although many perceive the MCQ pattern to be easier it is comparatively difficult as there will just be a right or wrong answer. Candidates can check the details curriculum for the Class 10 and 12 examinations provided on the official website of the board.
The teachers attending the workshops which are still underway were informed by the officials that the multiple-choice questions can be tricky for any student who has taken up a selective course. According to board officials, the CBSE exam may pick up any line from the NCERT text and turn the same into a fill in the blank or an MCQ. Only those students who are thorough with the subjects will be able to secure marks in the Multiple Choice section.
A teacher while speaking about the subjects of Multiple Choice Questions pointed out that the board has asked the students to go through the NCERT texts while preparing for the examination. The 20 marks Multiple Choice questions can either be very easy or very difficult for the students.
Another teacher pointed out that the experts sent by the board have also echoed the importance of preparing the students for the MCQ section. Almost all the subjects which also include practical subjects such as Mathematics, Accountancy will have 15 to 20 marks dedicated to multiple-choice questions. The teacher also added that the students have an option to either attempt the questions or not and it will be tougher than subjective questions because the entire chapter can be considered as a question bank for the MCQ section.
Students are being recommended to ensure that they derive the time to carefully read through the NCERT chapters. It is also not considered wise to restore complete faith in the references books completely. The students who have yet not purchased NCERT texts can either buy them or download it from the official website.
