NEET PG 2022 Postponed by 6 - 8 Weeks, to be held after NEET PG Counselling stray round, confirms Health Minister

NEET PG 2022 Postponed: Coming to the aid of medical aspirants, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has announced postponement of NEET 2022 Exam. The news about postponement of NEET PG 2022 Medical Entrance Exam has been confirmed by the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA) announced on its social media account. The announcement comes across as a major relief for aspirants who are to appear National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate 2022 exam, who have been demanding its postponement form original date of 12th March 2022, to avoid clash with the on-going PG Counselling Process.

Ministry shares letter with NBE

FORDA and several other doctors’ group have been demanding postponement of NEET PG 2022 examination to avoid clash with the on-going NEET PG Counselling 2021. The key concern shared by the Doctors’ group is that many interns who are currently participating in the on-going counselling process will not be able to participate in the exam by the month of May or June 2022. In line with this, the Union Health Minister has accepted these demands and decided to postpone the PG Medical Entrance Exam by 6 to 8 weeks. To confirm the development, NBE has issued an official letter which has been sent to by the Ministry to the exam organizer the NBEMS.

NEET PG 2022 Postponement Plea in Supreme Court

In related news, Supreme Court of India will also hear a plea regarding postponement of the NEET PG 2022 examination today, as per media reports. The petition was filed by a group of 6 MBBS Graduates in the apex court seeking postponement of PG entrance exam scheduled to be held on 12^th March 2022. The plea sought directions to NBE to postpone the scheduled exam until the mandatory internship period set forth in PG regulations is completed. Now, in the light of the new development about Health Ministry’s letter to NBE, it would be interesting to see if SC dismisses the plea filed before it.
