School Reopening Updates across India: From 23rd November onwards, several state governments have permitted schools to reopen amid strict adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines. However, the rising number of Coronavirus infections in few states has forced roll-back of the decision, including in Gujarat and parts of Maharashtra like Mumbai and Pune city. On similar lines, Karnataka State Government is also planning to hold a consultative review meeting today afternoon under the chairman-ship of Chief Minister BS Yedddyurappa to take final decision about school reopening in the state.

Maharashtra School Reopening Updates
Maharashtra State is one of the worst hit in terms of the pandemic in the country. However, with nearly half the year already over and issues with regards to online learning, digital divide and connectivity had forced the state government to permit reopening of the schools in the state from today i.e. 23rd November - Monday. However, Maharashtra being a big state, the final decision about school reopening will be taken by the local authorities after reviewing the COVID situation at the district level. In line with this, schools across the state are slated to reopen except in Mumbai, Pune City, Nashik, Aurangabad city and few other districts.
Gujarat School Reopening News
Post Diwali, Gujarat has witnessed a rapid increase in the number of COVID cases in the state. In response to this, the state government had announced two day curfew or lockdown on 21st and 22nd November in Ahmedabad city. In addition to this, the state government has also ordered night curfew from 9 PM to 6 AM across 4 major cities in the state i.e. Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat.
Rajasthan School Reopening News
The Gehlot Government in Rajasthan had also permitted reopening of schools earlier. However, owing to the rising number of cases in the state the decision has been rolled back for now. As per the latest update, schools across Rajasthan have been ordered to remain closed until 30th November 2020.
Karnataka School Reopening News:
Karnataka State Government will announce its final decision with regards to reopening of schools amid the pandemic today i.e. on 23rd November 2020. Today, the state government is scheduled to hold a high-level meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar, officials of the education, health and social welfare departments. In the meeting, the state government along with the ministers and bureaucrats will review the prevailing situation around COVID-19 pandemic and take final decision about reopening of schools.
Goa School Reopening News
Schools Reopened for Class 10 and 12 studentss in Goa after 8 months amid in line with the instructions issued by the state government earlier in the month. Keeping in mind the pandemic situation, strict adherence to COVID-19 precautionary guidelines and protocols was seen among students and teachers after the reopening of schools. The state government has decided to reopen schools for students who are in their board exam years i.e. SSC and HSSC Class from 21st November – Saturday onwards.
Delhi School Reopening News
With speculation about the 3rd wave of COVID in Delhi gaining ground, the state government has decided to keep schools closed in the state until 31st December 2020.
Odisha School Reopening News
In the wake of the rising number of Coronavirus cases in the state, the Odisha State Government has decided to extend the school closure until 31st December 2020.
