TN 12th Result 2019 Provisional in Nature

TN Board has also issued a disclaimer on their official website stating "Neither NIC nor the Directorate is responsible for any inadvertent error that may have crept in the results being published on Net. The results published on Net are for immediate information to the examinees. These cannot be treated as original mark sheets". 

Therefore, students are advised to collect the original marksheets and certificates form their respective schools and exam centres.

Number of Exam Centres Increased

This year the board exams of Tamil Nadu board were held at 7,081 centres, an increase of 150 centres as compared to last year.

Tamil Nadu Class 12 Result – Answer Sheet Rechecking

Students who feel that their answer sheets have not been evaluated fairly can go for the option of Answer Sheet rechecking provided by the Tamil Nadu Board. Students will have to pay Rs 275 to get their answer sheets rechecked. The detailed procedure to get the answer sheet rechecked will be available on the TN Board website and can also be provided by the School administrators.

TN HSC Result 2019 – Retotaling

Along with the declaration of TN HSC Result 2019, the Board will also notify the process and charges for the students who want to get their marks retotaled. Generally, DHSE Tamil Nadu charges Rs 305/- for retotaling of Biology paper, for all the other paper, the Board charges Rs 205/- for all the other subjects.

No Blueprints or Important Topics Announced

The board had also not released the blueprints and had not explained the topics and the respective marks from each section. Although the Directorate of Government Examinations issued the sample or model papers, it did not release the relevant answer key. The model papers were prepared by the Tamil Nadu State Council for Educational Research and Training. As per a senior department official, this step was an effort to train the students so that they do not depend on the textbooks and on the back of the book questions.

Security Measures during HSE Exam

This year the board exams of Tamil Nadu board were held at 7,081 centres, an increase of 150 centres as compared to last year. The Board also ascertained 691 routes through which question papers were carried to the exam centres to prevent the paper leak. The answer sheets of the candidates were transported to the control rooms through the same routes.

Change in Exam Pattern

The DGE introduced certain changes in the Tamil Nadu Board Class 12 exam pattern this year. As per the new exam pattern, the exam duration was reduced from three hours to two and a half hours. Earlier, the board assigned 200 marks to each subject which was changed to 100. Also, the question papers of Language and English which were initially held separately were merged this year.

Re-Exam / Supply Exam Schedule

After the declaration of TN Class 12 Result 2019, the TN Board will also announce the Re-examination or Supplementary Exam schedule for the students who have failed in the TN HSE Result 2019. Candidates who fail to score pass percentage can easily apply for supplementary exam to be conducted in the month of June 3 to 10, 2019.

Measures to check Cheating

The Tamil Nadu Board too made sure that unfair means weren’t used during TN Plus Two examination and hence flying squads visited the centres to ensure transparency in the exam.

No Toppers in TN HSE Result

Just like last year, the Tamil Nadu Board will not release the official list of toppers and the marks obtained by them for HSE Result 2019. This is done to ease the exam pressure and stress that students go through during the TN Class 12 Result 2019 declaration.

TN HSE Exam – Dates

For 2019, the Tamil Nadu Board held the HSE i.e. the Higher Secondary Certificate Exam in the month of March. The exam commenced on 1^st March and continued until 19^th April 2019. The exams were held in line with the annual academic calendar of the Board to ensure that students get enough time to complete the admission formalities to undergraduate courses offered by different colleges and universities. Passing Criteria for the Exam

With an aim to improve the quality of education in the state, DGE, Tamil Nadu has taken several steps and launched unique initiatives.  As part of this, the minimum marks required to clear the exam have also been modified this year. Students need to score a minimum of 35 per cent marks in each subject to clear the examination.

Steam-wise Pass Percentage of 2018

Last year, the overall pass percentage in Science stream was 94.29; it was 87.45 and 79.65 for Commerce and Art stream, respectively. For vocational stream the pass percentage stood at 80.18.

Last Year’s Result Highlights

In 2018, a total of 9,07,620 students had appeared for the HSE Exam of which 4.03 lakh were male students while the rest i.e. 4.63 lakh were female candidates. The students put up a phenomenal performance in the HSE Result last year and registered an overall pass percentage of 91.1%. In terms of gender-wise performance, girls outshined boys with 94.1% as compared to 87.7% success ratio. A total of 6754 schools scored 100 per cent results with Virudhnagar district giving the best performance with 97 pass per cent.

TN Class 12 Result Earlier than usual

Last year, the Tamil Nadu 12^th Result 2019 was announced on 16^th May, which is in sync with the general timeline followed by the Board. However, this year, the DGE, TN has decided to announce the TN HSE Result 2019 earlier, most likely owing to the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2019.
