VIT Counselling 2020: Vellore Institute of Technology is scheduled to begin the VITEEE 2020 online counselling procedure from today, August 10, 2020, onwards. The counselling process will be conducted in the online mode in four phases. According to reports, the students will be called for the VITEEE  2020 counselling procedure as per the ranks secured in the VITEEE 2020 examinations.

The institute has released the B.Tech rank list on the official website on August 5, 2020. The institute has cancelled the VITEEE 2020 examinations and decided to conduct the admissions based on Class 12 with weightage being given to JEE Main (January) exam scores.

VITEEE 2020 Counselling Schedule

According to the information provided the candidates who have secured a minimum of 60 per cent in the class 12 examinations in Physics, Chemistry and Maths/ Biology are eligible to apply for the counselling procedure.

As per the schedule provided on the official website, the students who have secured ranks between 1 to 20,000 will be called for the counselling from today - August 10, 2020. Students from rank 20001 to 60,000 will be called from August 14, 2020. Students between rank 60001 to 1 Lakh will be called on August 18, 2020, and students falling under rank 1 lakh and above will be called from August 22, 2020, onwards. 

Counselling Procedure

To participate in the counselling procedure students are required to log in using their login credentials which have been mailed to the students on their registered email ID. After logging, students are required to read through the instructions and enter the choices in the fields provided. The process of choice filling and locking will be provided to the students according to the schedule given. Students are also required to submit a registration fee of Rs. 5000/-Students are required to fill and submit the choices in two days following which the seat allotment will be announced for each round.

Allotment process

Those who have been allotted seats in the allotment process will be given three days to pay the advance admission fee. The last date to submit the full fee is September 10, 2020. The institute has also notified that classes for the students will commence as per the guidelines issued by the UGC and the Ministry of Education.
