Application process started for Punjab TET 2016! Apply before 21 July at tetpunjab.com

Punjab TET 2016 notification has been released! Punjab TET, otherwise known as the PSTET is held every year to recruit teachers for primary stage (Class 1-5) and elementary stage (Class 6-8). Interested candidates can find more details in this regard below.

The application process for Punjab TET 2016/ PSTET 2016 has begun. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their application on or before 21 July (up to 05.00 pm).

For the primary stage (Class 1-5) teachers applications are invited from Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002 OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two year Diploma in Elementary Education.

For the secondary stage (Class 6-8) teachers, the minimum educational qualification requirement is Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) OR Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed OR Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

The Punjab TET 2016/ PSTET 2016 examination will comprise of two papers; one each for each of the stages: primary/elementary. All questions in PSTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking.

Candidates interested for Punjab TET 2016 are required to submit their applications before 21 July. The online application process will continue till 05.00pm. Candidates are required to deposit the application fee in the bank; for general category Rs.600/-, SC/ST category / Differently-abled Rs.300/-, for Ex-serviceman (Self) - NIL (for each test). The last date for depositing the application fee is 22 July 2016.

A person who scores 60% or more in the PSTET exam will be considered as PSTET pass. Punjab Govt., as decided to give concession of 5% in PSTET to the persons belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy.
