The Department of Management Studies was established in the year 2004 in order to nurture, develop & propagate the ongoing MBA Programme which had been started earlier in August, 2001.
Besides the MBA Programme, the department offers other programmes like :-
1. Research Programme at the Masters [MS] & Doctoral [PhD] levels
2. An MS (Entrepreneurship)Programme
3. The Institute is also a partner in Multi-Institutional Diploma Programme [PGPEX-VLM] alongwith IIM Calcutta & IIT Kanpur.

Post-Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing [PGPEX-VLM]
• It’s a joint programme of:-
IIM-Calcutta, IIT-Kanpur & IIT-Madras.
• Supported by:-
Japanese International Cooperative Agency.
• Eligibility:-
A first class graduate Engineer with first class academic records throughout.
• Prior work experience:-
Self-sponsored Candidates- 5-10 years of work experience in Manufacturing sector.
Sponsored Candidates - Upper limit on maximum 10 years of experience is set free.
• Duration:-
One year full-time resedential programme including 32 weeks classroom interaction, case studies, tutorials, project works at IIM-C,IIT-K & IIT-M; total 960 interaction hours.
• Other Endeavors:-
11-13 weeks internship in industry.
04-06 weeks industry visits in India as well as abroad.
• Purpose of the Programme:-
To develop a high degree of leadership skills & management skills simultaneously which can further help the Indian firms to convert the manufacturing into an competitive asset.
