There is a dip seen in the percentage of enrolments of students belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in India.
Apparently, this got revealed by the Right to Education status report by the Union Ministry of Human Development Resource.
As per the revised National Council of Teacher Education guidelines it has been pointed out, around twenty percent of the teachers in India do not even qualify to have professional qualifications.
In the state of West Bengal, the enrolment percentage at the primary school level for SCs was twenty seven and seven per cent for STs.
The situation remains sorry as the status of government-run schools in West Bengal, report brought out facts such as that 75 per cent have more than 35 students in a classroom, 66 per cent do not have playgrounds and 67 per cent do not have boundary walls.
