IAS Main questions, related to international events, are concerned with the India’s Economic Interaction with the outer world.
The International Relations questions in the IAS Main are always asked keeping in India’s Interest in Mind. Whatever our government is doing, why they are employing such policies and what will be the repercussions of that will be the focus of the questions. Government is an Institution and each decision is taken after due consultations with all the stake holders.
The candidates are expected to know the nature of India’s relations with the world powers and its interest for which the decisions have been taken. The answer of the candidates should always keep in mind the objective of our foreign policy so that the final conclusion given by candidate should not contradict the objective of the foreign policy.
The candidates are required to know the fundamentals of Economic because there are various decisions taken from the economic perspective. The candidate should write the considerations and effects of the decisions taken by the government. The candidate should read at least one news Paper daily so that he remain updated with the international scenario. ‘The Hindu’ covers the International relations of India comprehensively and it is suggested that the candidate should read this newspaper. But he candidate should filter out the anti government remarks and accept the government decisions because government is an institution and it take decision on one or other reasons for taking such decisions.
The candidates should also know the implications of the government decision and should also use them in criticising the government decision. The candidate should write the balanced answer and do not blame any other country. Always keep a tab on the latest engagement with the world powers and always mention them in his answers.
