IBPS CWE PO/MT-IV Exam 2014: Selection Procedure

    Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) released notification for inviting applications from the eligible candidates for appointing to the post of Probationary Officers (PO) and Management Trainee (MT) in Public Sector Banks 2014.

    The candidates can register for Common Recruitment Process (CWE PO/MT-IV) for getting selected for Probationary Officers and Management Trainee posts. The Common Written Examination (CWE) will be conducted by IBPS tentatively on 11 October 2014/ 12 October 2014/ 18 October 2014/ 19 October 2014/ 01 November 2014/ 02 November 2014.

    The tentative date for the start of the online registration is 22 July 2014 and the closing date of registration is 11 August 2014.

    The candidates will be selected on their performance in the common written examination (CWE) followed by the Interviews after which the final allotment process will be conducted based on combined score.

    The selection procedure for the IBPS recruitment for Probationary Officers and Management Trainee posts entails three phases, which are described below:

    COMMON WRITTEN EXAM – ONLINE EXAMINATION

    The online written examination includes a paper that consists of five different sections that are Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness (with special reference to Banking Industry) and Computer Knowledge. There will be 200 objective type questions carrying one mark for each. The duration for completion of the examination is 2 hours. The division of questions/ marks for each section is as follow:

    NOTE:

    • The above tests except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
    • There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
    • Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test/section and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for the next round -- Interview.

    INTERVIEW

    Candidates who have been shortlisted in the examination for CWE PO/MT-IV will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centres. The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorised IBPS website: www.ibps.in.

    The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively. The combined final score of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in CWE PO/MT-IV and Interview. Interview score of the candidates failing to secure minimum qualifying marks or otherwise barred from the interview or further process shall not be disclosed.

    A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on IBPS website.

    While appearing for the Interview, the candidate should produce valid prescribed documents given below:

    • Printout of the valid Interview Call Letter
    • Valid system generated printout of the online application form registered for CWE Clerks-III
    • Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate or SSLC/ Std. X Certificate with DOB)
    • Photo Identify Proof
    • Mark-sheets & certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification
    • Caste Certificate issued by competent authority in the prescribed format
    • Medical Certificate in prescribed format in case of Persons With Disability category
    • Ex-servicemen candidates
    • “No Objection certificate” for the ) Candidates serving in Government / quasi govt offices/ Public Sector Undertakings (including Nationalized Banks and Financial Institutions)
    • Experience certificates
    • Any other certificate stating eligibility of the candidate for the post

    ALLOTMENT

    On completion of the interview process, depending on the vacancies to be filled in during the financial year 2015-16 based on the business needs of the Participating Organisations and as reported to IBPS, candidates shortlisted will be provisionally allotted to one of the Participating Organisations, based on merit-cum-preference keeping in view the spirit of Govt. Guidelines on reservation policy, various guidelines issued by Govt. of India/Others from time to time, administrative exigency, etc. No change in the data already registered by the candidate in the online application form is possible.

    A candidate belonging to reserved category, selected on the basis of norms as applicable to General Category, will be treated at par with a General category candidate for drawing up the merit list. Such a candidate will not be adjusted against a reserved post. However his/her provisional allotment to an Organisation will be done by treating him/her as if he/she is a reserved category candidate.

    In the event of two or more candidates having obtained the same score, merit order is decided as per date of birth (the candidate senior in age is placed before/ above the candidate junior in age), as per the prevailing practice.

    Note: The provisional allotment is subject to the candidate fulfilling the criteria for Participating Organisation and identity verification to the satisfaction of the allotted organisation. This does not constitute an offer of employment.
