Karnataka MBA PGCET 2013 Scrapped: Admissions through CMAT Score

Karnataka Government has scrapped Post Graduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET) for MBA/ PGDM admissions in various institutes of the state. For academic year 2013-14, MBA admission to AICTE approved institutions and University departments will be based on CMAT scores while CMAT, CAT, MAT, XAT and ATMA scores shall be considered for admission to PGDM institutions.
AICTE will be conducting an additional online CMAT in May 2013 for admission for academic year 2013-14 to facilitate students who could not appear in previous CMAT from the states of UP, Karnataka and Kerala. Click here for CMAT May 2013 details.
MBA admission will be based on better of two scores secured in CMAT September- October 2013, February 2013 and May 2013.
The State Government has also decided that only CMAT scores will be taken into consideration for admission to MBA/ PGDM programmes in all AICTE recognised institutions and State Universities in the state from the academic session 2013-14 onwards. CMAT 2013-14 has become mandatory for the candidates seeking admission to MBA/ PGDM programmes in these institutes.
CMAT is a Common Management Test conducted to screen candidates for admission to Management programmes in various B-schools. AICTE hold CMAT in order to minimise burden on candidates of attending multiple entrance examinations and to facilitate institutes to choose prospective candidates for Management programmes.
