ONGC Recruitment 2016 for Engineers has begun and applications will be received till 10 August. Those who have applied for GATE-2016 for recruitment to the posts notified in the said advertisement need to apply online for the posts in ONGC. However, they need not pay any registration fee.
ONGC has notified recruitment to Assistant Executive Engineer, Chemist, Geologist, Geophysicist, Materials Management Officer, Programming Officer and Transport Officer. While graduate engineers are eligible for AEE post, for other posts the educational requirement varies as per the requirement of the job profile.
Candidates who have obtained their qualification through the distance learning/ part time mode are also eligible to apply provided their qualification is recognized by the relevant statutory bodies for employment to posts and services of the Central Government.
ONGC will select candidates on the basis of GATE score. On the basis of GATE score, ONGC will shortlist the candidates for the further selection process of Personal Interview as per the criteria decided by the Management.
For drawing the final merit list, the recruiting board will give different weightages to different section. GATE 2016 score will carry a total of 60 marks, interview will total to 15 marks. Educational qualification will total to 25 marks.
Only GATE-2016 Score is valid for the recruitment exercise in ONGC under this advertisement. Score from GATE-2015 or from any previous GATE examination is not valid.
Before registering/submitting their online applications on the website the candidates should possess GATE-2016 Registration ID and Application ID, Valid Mobile number in which the OTP will be sent for completing the registration process, Valid E-mail ID and scanned copy of recent passport size color photograph of the candidate with white background containing signature of the candidate in a small white sheet pasted just below the photograph (Not more than 70 KB size).
Candidates can download the interview call letters from 20 August 2016. Interview will be held during September-October 2016.
