UGC NET Exam 2024: The National Testing Agency has commenced the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) today, August 21. The re-exam will conclude on September 4. Candidates are advised to reach the exam venue at least one hour before their scheduled shift. The first shift will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, while the second shift will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Before stepping into the UGC NET 2024 examination hall, it's essential to acquaint yourself with the exam day guidelines. Here, we have listed down the guidelines as set by the commission.
- You must carry a printed copy of your admit card, along with a passport-size photograph—the same one you uploaded during your online application. This photograph will be pasted on the attendance sheet at the exam centre. Also, bring one of the authorized, original, valid, and non-expired photo IDs such as a PAN card, Driving License, Passport, or Aadhaar Card (with photograph).
- Arrive at the exam centre at least two hours before the exam begins. This will give you ample time to complete the paperwork without any rush. Remember, the document verification process closes 30 minutes before the exam starts.
- Carefully read the instructions on your hall ticket and adhere to them throughout the examination. As the doors to the Examination Hall open, find your seat and settle in right away. If unforeseen delays—like traffic jams or transportation issues—cause you to arrive late, you risk missing critical instructions given in the exam rooms. Be aware that the NTA holds no responsibility for such delays.
- Do not bring any prohibited items, including stationery, communication devices, accessories, food, jewelry, or any material that could be considered for unfair practices.
- Once inside the hall, locate your designated seat and sit only there. Ensure that the question paper you receive matches the subject mentioned on your UGC NET admit card.
- Candidates must not carry any item or article which has been restricted or can be used for unfair practices including any stationery item, communication device, accessories, eatable items, ornaments or any other material or information relevant or not relevant to the UGC NET exam in the paper concerned.
- UGC NET question paper will comprise four alternatives for the answer to every question. Candidates need to opt for one option. Opting more than one answer will be treated as a wrong answer.
