Election Result 2024: Arun Govil wins Uttar Pradesh's Meerut Seat by 10,585 votes

Arun Govil Lok Sabha 2024 Election Result: BJP candidates Arun Govil has won the Meerut seat by a margin of 10585 votes to his nearest rival Sunita Verma of Samajwadi Party. Arun Govil, the actor turned politician need not need any identification. The actor who is known for his role of “ Lord Rama” played in tv serial Ramayan made him a household name. Presently he is contesting as a BJP contestant from Meerut Lok Sabha constituency in UP. 

Arun Govil Won by 10585 votes 

In a very interesting fight which kept the result sensational at the last moment forthe counting day, the BJP candidates Arun Govil won the Meerut seat by a margin of 10585 votes to his nearest rival Sunita Verma of Samajwadi Party.

The high-profile Meerut Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh has been considered the stronghold for the BJP. Party has filed the Arun Govil, the noted actor and tv artist.

On March 18, 2021, Arun Govil joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. Arun Govil was nominated as the party candidate for Meerut Lok Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. His fight is with the Atul Pradhan Samajwadi Party (SP) and Devvrat Tyagi from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).

Arun Govil Education

Arun Govil was born on January 12, 1952, in Meerut.  He got his formal education at College of Agra University.  He has achieved an engineering degree from the Chaudhary Charan Singh University. He was fond of  dramas and stage show performances and  participated in such activities from very early. His father Chandra Prakash Govil was a government officer.

Arun Govil Acting Journey

Arun Govil moved to Mumbai in 1975, initially to assist his brother for his business activities. But acting was his hobby and so he decided to take a chance for the same. He acted in many films including Sawan Ko Aane Do (1979), Sawan Ko Aane Do (1979) and Saanch Ko Aanch Nahin (1979). 

The role of Lord Rama played by Arun Govil remained a historical character in the entertainment world. He played many crucial roles in many serials including Harishchandra in the TV series Vishwamitra and Buddha.

Arun Govil Family

Arun Govil met his wife Shreelekha who is a designer, early in his acting career. They have two children, Sonika and Amal. His father, Shri Chandraprakash Govil, was a government officer.
