IPL All Teams Captains 2025: Complete List of Indian Premier League Captains and Coaches

The IPL 2025 season features a dynamic lineup of captains leading their respective teams. Notable names include Virat Kohli for RCB, Hardik Pandya for MI, and Ruturaj Gaikwad for CSK. This season promises thrilling competition as each captain aims to secure their team's success in the tournament.

As the IPL 2025 season approaches, teams have announced their captains, bringing excitement among fans. 

Shreyas Iyer, who previously led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to a championship win in 2024, has now joined Punjab Kings (PBKS) as their captain. He was bought for a record ₹26.75 crores, making him one of the most expensive players in IPL history.

Additionally, Hardik Pandya continues to lead the Mumbai Indians (MI) after taking over from Rohit Sharma in 2024.

On the other hand, Ruturaj Gaikwad remains at the helm of Chennai Super Kings (CSK), having taken over from MS Dhoni in 2024. Riyan Parag has been appointed as the new captain for Rajasthan Royals (RR) since the regular captain and star batter, Sanju Samson, is recovering from a finger injury.

Meanwhile, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be led by Pat Cummins, the only foreign captain this year. Further, Ajinkya Rahane has been named as the new captain of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), stepping into the role after Shreyas Iyer’s departure. 

Rishabh Pant is set to lead the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), bringing his aggressive and fearless leadership style after previously captaining the Delhi Capitals.  Rajat Patidar was announced as the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) captain. Lastly, Axar Patel will lead Delhi Capitals (DC).

IPL 2025 All Teams Captains

Here’s the list of the captains of all teams participating in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The list includes:

1. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

  • Captain: Rishabh Pant
  • Price: 27 crore
  • Coach: Justin Langer
  • Mentor: Zaheer Khan

Rishabh Pant is the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for the IPL 2025 season. The announcement was made on January 20, 2025, following his record-breaking purchase for ₹27 crore during the IPL Mega Auction in November 2024. Pant is the fourth captain in LSG's history, succeeding KL Rahul, Nicholas Pooran, and Krunal Pandya.

2. Rajasthan Royals (RR)

The captain of the Rajasthan Royals (RR) for IPL 2025 is Riyan Parag. He is a talented all-rounder from Assam who has been appointed as Rajasthan Royals' captain for the first three matches of IPL 2025, making him the first Assamese player to lead an IPL franchise.

Sanju Samson, the regular captain of Rajasthan Royals (RR), is not leading the team at the moment as he continues to recover from a right index finger injury sustained during the fifth T20I against England in Mumbai earlier this year.

3. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)

  • Price: 18 crore

The 31-year-old middle-order batter from Madhya Pradesh was among RCB’s retained players. Patidar has been with RCB since 2021 and has scored 799 runs in 28 matches at a strike rate of 158.85.
