The ever-evolving platform WhatsApp is expanding its new Channels Feature constantly with new updates. Recently, Mark Zuckerberg announced a voice and polls feature for WhatsApp Channels to make it more engaging.

Now, the messaging platform is bringing out the ability to share Channel updates/posts directly to your status. This exciting addition allows you to seamlessly share interesting finds, important announcements, or engaging content from your favourite channels with your wider network.

What are the Benefits of this Feature? 

Sharing channel updates on WhatsApp Status can offer several benefits, both for individuals and businesses:

For Individuals:

How to Use the New Feature? 

Keep in mind that not all Channel updates can be shared. While the feature exists, it's not universal. Only certain types of updates are currently supported for sharing on your status page. Here is a list of updates that can be shared: 

• “Text

• Links

• Photos

• GIF

• Video”

Here is how to use the new feature: 

• Find the Shareable Update: Open the desired Channel and locate the text, link, photo, GIF, or video you want to share.
• Long-Press to Forward: Tap and hold the chosen update until a menu appears. Select "Forward."
• Choose "My Status": On the "Forward to" screen, you'll see your frequently contacted individuals and recent chats alongside a prominent "My Status" option. Tap "My Status."
• Optional Customisation: Before posting, you can add personal comments, captions, or emojis to tailor the update to your audience.
• Share!: Tap "Send" to share the Channel update on your WhatsApp Status.

Note: This feature is currently available on Android and iOS devices. Web/desktop versions of WhatsApp don't support it yet.
