Valarie Allman is a 29-year-old American discus thrower who was born on February 23, 1995, in Newark, Delaware, and raised in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Originally, she always wanted to become a dancer but took up track and field at the encouragement of her older brother in her freshman year of high school.
Allman has competed in a variety of sports events, representing her country on an international level. Allman represented the United States at the 2017 Summer Universiade, winning silver in the discus throw event.
Although she couldn't qualify for the 2017 World Championships, she continued to train and improve her skills, eventually earning a spot on the US Olympic team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Valarie has won a gold medal in the discus throw event at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, solidifying her status as one of the top athletes in her sport.
She won a bronze medal at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, becoming the first American woman to win a discus throw world championship. She earned a gold medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Allman's personal best in the discus event is 71.46 m (234 ft 5+1⁄4 in), set at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla on April 8, 2022. This was the 15th longest throw in history and the longest in almost 30 years.

Valarie Allman won a gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics with an impressive throw of 69.50 metres, surpassing China's Bin Feng by nearly two metres. Sandra Elkasevi of Croatia took bronze with a throw of 67.51 metres. All four of Allman's non-foul throws outscored Feng's best one.
