Calcutta University 2021: As per the updates, the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal has started the Calcutta University UG admission. Candidates can register in online mode at the official website - caluniv.ac.in. They can apply till 20th August 2021. Based on their preferences and class 12 marks, the department will release the merit lists on the official portal. The state higher education department recently released a public notification, announcing the official admission scheduled for UG and PG courses at Calcutta University.
The University of Calcutta offers several undergraduate and postgraduate courses in different disciplines. These include agriculture, arts, education, journalism, library science, engineering, and technology, etc.
Calcutta University Dates 2021 and Other Details
As per the released schedule, the UG 2021 application process will be started and concluded on 2nd to 20th August 2021. Thereafter, the department will release merit lists for various UG courses latest by 31st August 2021. After the release of merit lists, candidates will have to confirm their seats and pay the admission fee by 30th September 2021. They will get a time-period of 30 days to decide. Once all the admission formalities are completed, the new academic session/first semester will begin from 1st October 2021.
According to the instructions issued by the higher education department, candidates will not be charged for scanning/uploading any documents. Even the online application form and admission prospectus will be made available to them, free of charge. However, a certain amount will be charged to apply for the admission process. This fee must be paid only through the online mode and not through any offline sources.

Calcutta University Admission Based on Class 12th Marks
As per the reports, candidates will be given admission based on the class 12th board exam results to various UG courses in Calcutta University. Therefore, the online admission process will solely be done based on merit. Moreover, candidates will not be called to any college for counselling or document verification.
This year, the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) announced the Class 12 board exam results on 22nd July 2021. The result was based on the performance of students in Class 10, 11 and 12 (internal assessments). Due to the second wave of COVID-19, the authorities cancelled the WB 12th board exams.
