The Central University of Tamil Nadu has decided against conducting the end semester examinations for the final year students. According to reports, the students for all the programmes except for those from the M.Phil and PhD programmes will be assessed based on the continuous internal assessment of the present semester. 

Along with this, the cumulative grade point average of the students secured until the previous semester will be considered for the subjects passed by the students. As per reports, a total of 60 percent weightage will be given for the continuous internal assessment and 40 percent for the CGPA which the students have secured until the previous examinations for the theory course.

For the practical examination, 100 per cent weightage will be given to continuous internal assessment for the ongoing semester. 

According to the details provided on the official website, the same process will be considered for the arrear and backlog examinations for the third semester PG programmes, ninth semester integrated programmes, and private candidates since it is not possible to conduct the examinations for the students amidst the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The notification further clarifies that the assessment modality will be applicable for the arrear/ backlog papers of the even semester for the final year students of all the programmes.  

The universities across the country have been deliberating on conducting the examinations for the Undergraduate and Postgraduate students in the online mode owing to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown situation in the country
