CLAT 2019 Registration: The Common Law Admission Test or CLAT 2019 registration has now begun at the official website of CLAT. The CLAT 2019 application form is available at clatconsortiumofnlu.ac.in. From this year, the National Law University Odisha (NLUO) has been selected to conduct the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT-2019). According to the statement issued by NLUO Vice-Chancellor Prof Srikrishna Deva, the examination is scheduled to be held on May 12, 2019. The online registration for CLAT 2019 will continue till March 31, 2019.
The aspirants have to pass CLAT in order to get admission in BA LLB (Hons), BSc LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), BSW LLB (Hons), BCom LLB (Hons) and LLM programmes on offer at the NLUs. As per the reports, till 2017, only 18 NLUs accepted CLAT scores to fill 632 LLM seats and 2,352 LLB seats, however, in 2018 a new NLU was added to the list, taking the number of NLUs accepting CLAT scores for admission to 19.
Last year, CLAT 2018 was held on 13th May 2018 for the candidates who were seeking admissions in the Five Year Integrated Law Degree (Hon’s) Undergraduate programme and One Year LL.M. Degree Postgraduate programme in the 19 National Law Universities in India.
About CLAT
The 19 participating National Law Universities (NLUs) each year on a rotational basis, for short-listing students for the Under-Graduate (UG) / Post-Graduate (PG) Law programmes, conduct Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the only way to secure admission in one of the 18 National law universities, to pursue the most coveted LLB/LLM programmes offered by these NLU and associated institutions. The admission is granted on the ‘merit-cum-preference’ in accordance with the eligibility and other criteria as laid down by respective NLUs.
