
Delhi University Reopening: As per the updates, after a long interval, Delhi University (DU) has decided to reopen its campus in a phased manner. DU decided to resume offline classes after a nod by the Delhi Disaster Management Authority. However, online classes will also continue. Thus, hybrid teaching and learning will be followed by the University in a phased manner. DU students will be able to come to campus only for practical work for now and theory classes will continue online.
The University will reopen from tomorrow, 15th September 2021 by following all the COVID-19 protocols. Delhi University has also issued separate guidelines by University Grants Commission, UGC and DDMA. The detailed guidelines regarding the reopening of campus can be checked below here.
UGC COVID-19 Guidelines To Be Also Followed
As per the official notification released by University Grant Commission, Universities have to follow certain SOPs while reopening campus. Thus, certain measures such as self-monitoring of health and reporting immediately in case of any illness, use of Arogya Setu App wherever convenient, washing hands at regular intervals, and maintaining a six feet social distancing should be followed. These guidelines should be followed by all those who will be coming to the campus.
Delhi University Detailed COVID-19 Guidelines
- Students should note that attending physical classes is optional. Thus, attendance for these classes is not mandatory.
- Final year UG and PG students will be allowed to attend practical and library classes from tomorrow. However, classes will resume with 50% capacity. Only those experiments, practicals that are essential for the upcoming semester will be conducted by DU.
- Students going to the college, departments should have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccines. However, it is essential for hostel residents to receive both the COVID-19 doses.
- The teaching and non-teaching staff must have got both doses of COVID-19 vaccination.
- It should be noted that theory classes for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses will be held online until further notification.
To go to the library, the respective departments will allot slots to the students. - Later, if the same premise is shared for conducting classes by an Evening College and Morning College, a conductive timetable for taking physical classes should be followed by the colleges.
COVID-19 safety protocols must be followed at all times and everyone must wear masks and ensure the use of sanitisers along with maintaining social distancing.
