Delhi University is soon expected to begin five new online undergraduate courses for students after the UGC approved the proposal put forward by the university. The university will begin the online courses which include BA, B.Com and Honours programmes from January 2020.
According to media reports, 22 universities submitted the proposal for the online courses from which only four universities have been granted permission to begin the online programmes. The courses provided will include BA, B.Com, BA English (H), BA Political Science (H), and B.Com (H). The courses will be under the Delhi University School of Open Learning (DU SOL).
The students will be able to study for the programmes from anywhere with the help of special websites which will be set up by the university for the programs. The website will contain features like live streaming of lecturers, e-books and east access to study materials.
The UGC has also directed the university to upload the e-study materials by November 2019. Candidates interested to apply can visit the official website of Delhi University for further details.
Apart from this the university is also planning to conduct 30 percent of the examinations online, CS Dubey, Director of SOL said that the university will conduct 30 percent of the examination online in phases, adding that the university is developing dashboard for the same which will be integrated with the one where students get all the information and study materials.
