Haryana Schools Closed Due to Pollution: The Haryana government has announced the closure of schools because of the deteriorating air condition in the Delhi NCR region. As per the directions, schools in Panipat, Karnal, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Jind, Rewari, and Nuh will remain closed up to class 5th. Also, in Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, and Sonepat, educational institutions will remain shut until November 23, 2024.
The govt. had to announce closure as Haryana’s AQI was worsening. It is very harmful for students to attend physical classes at an alarming rate. In order to ensure uninterrupted education, online classes will be held for these students.
Meanwhile, due to the worsening Air Quality Index, the Supreme Court has ordered that the states of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Punjab enforce Stage IV of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) without any delay.
