Haryana Schools to Reopen Today: In line with the announcement made by the Haryana State Government last week, Schools for Class 10 and 12 students in the state would reopen from today i.e. 14th December 2020. As specified in the government order, students willing to attend physical in-person classes need to submit a medical certificate not older than 72 hours stating that their general health is fine and they do not have any symptoms for coronavirus. Following the reopening of schools for students who are in their Board Exam years, schools will also reopen for Class 9 and 11 students from next week i.e. 21st December 2020 onwards.

3 Hour Classes Daily

Taking the cautious route, the Education Department of Haryana Government has decided to reopen schools partially for now. As part of this process, students have been allowed to visit schools and attend classes only for three hours daily i.e. from 10 AM to 1 PM. Reports have indicated that the state government will review the development of this decision and accordingly increase the total number of hours for classes per day later on.

Medical Certificates, Parents’ Consent Must

To ensure that school reopening process is completely safe for the students as well as teachers, the education department has designed some very important guidelines and SOPs. The dictate that tudents, teachers, and non-teaching staff will have to go through temperature checks daily and those suffering from fever will not be permitted to enter.

Moreover, students have been asked to submit a medical fitness certificate not older than 72 hours before being allowed to attend classes at schools. The medical check-up can be done completely free at their nearest Community Health Centre, Primary Health Centre. In the medical certificate the medical officer is required to certify that the student is not suffering from any COVID-like symptoms. In addition to this, students will also be required to carry written consent from their parents.
