JEE Mains 2022 Aggregate Marks in Class 12th Required To Qualifying for IIT JEE Advanced

Earlier, marks scored by JEE Advanced aspirants in Class 12 or any other qualifying exam played a very important role as far as their eligibility for IIT JEE Entrance Exam. However, this year, owing to the impact of the pandemic, the exam conducting authority – IIT Bombay has relaxed the eligibility criteria for the candidates. Candidates’ eligibility for JEE Advanced 2022 will be judged only on the basis of their performance in JEE Main 2022 examination and not on the basis of their class 12 performance.

Appearance in Class 12th Board Exams

A candidate should have appeared for the Class 12th (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2021 or 2022 with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Those who had appeared in Class 12th (or equivalent), for the first time in 2020 or earlier, are NOT eligible to appear in JEE (Advanced) 2022 unless covered by the one-time special measure set. By appearance in class 12th (or equivalent), it is meant that the board concerned declared the result for that year irrespective of whether or not the examination was conducted. It will be considered as an appearance even if the result of a particular candidate got withheld.
