NEET 2019: CB-CID has arrested a first-year MBBS student from Chennai over charges of impersonation during the recently concluded NEET 2019 Medical Entrance Exam. As per report, the a student named Udit Surya has been arrested, along with this parents, from Dindugal district by Theni Police. Medical student has been arrested over charges of impersonating and for using fraudulent means to clear NEET 2019 medical entrance test. Both, the student as well as his parents, have been charged with employing unfair means to get admission to medical college using NEET 2019 exam.
Appeared for NEET Exam Twice
As per report, Udit Surya has appeared for NEET 2019 Entrance Exam twice since 2016. He cleared his Class 12 Board Exams in 2016 after which he attempted to clear NEET Medical Entrance Test to seek admission to medical colleges. However, after failing in NEET exam in the first attempt, he managed to clear the next attempt with flying colours.
Caught During Document Verification
However, during the document verification process, the college officials from Theni Medical College found discrepancies in the application form and mismatch of photograph in application form as compared to his real appearance. Following this suspicion, the college launched further inquiry and found Surya to be using fraud means to crack NEET 2019 Exam.
Police Complaint After Internal Inquiry
Theni Meidcal College constituted an internal inquiry committee to look into the matter and find out if there was any foul-play in the way Udit Surya had cleared the exam. Upon completion of the inquiry, the college decided to file a police complaint. Following this the case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Criminal Investigation Department, CB-CID. After unearthing of evidence against them, Udit Surya and his father a senior Doctor in Stanley Medical College in Chennai were arrested.
