NIT Srinagar suspends classes: National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has suspended its classes till further orders. The order has been issued keeping the tense and uncertain situation in Kashmir in mind. It is known that the NIT Srinagar centre is situated in the valley and due to the tense situation there, the management has called off the operation of the classes in the campus. This has left all the students studying at the institute in a shock and they are perplexed about the orders.
The Registrar of the NIT Srinagar said in his order that the classes at the NIT Srinagar campus has been suspended until the further orders. The Registrar also added that the order issued by him is in accordance with the District Administration of Srinagar. Contrary to the order issued by the Registrar, the District Administration of Srinagar said that no such orders or instructions have been given to the NIT Srinagar. The District Magistrate of Srinagar Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said that he has not issued any such instructions to shut the institute.
The DM Of Srinagar took to Twitter and tweeted, “In wake of unstoppable rumours, heads of all institutions were advised in the day to remain careful. No advise/instructions for shutting down any institution. This NIT notice is apparently a miscommunication. We notify when we issue closure order.” He also added that more than 900 schools and Kendriya Vidyalayas are open. He added that there has been proper arrangements of security and there is no need to panic.
