Education Minister Tests COVID Positive: As per the latest update, the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ has tested positive for COVID-19 today i.e. on 21st April 2021. Mr Pokhriyal himself confirmed the news by sharing it on his official twitter handle today afternoon. In a tweet sent out from his twitter account, he said “"This is to inform you all that I have tested COVID positive today. I am taking medication & treatment as per the advice of my doctors. Request all those who have come in my contact recently to be observant, and get themselves tested.”

 

Ministry Work to Carry on As Usual

After testing positive for Coronavirus, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal assured all stakeholders that any work related to his ministry will continue as usual without any hindrance. The Twitter statement issued by Education Minister said that "All the work of Education ministry is being conducted normally observing necessary precautions." He has advised all the officials and stakeholders to be very careful while carrying out their daily duties.

Board Exams Postponed, Colleges Closed

The 2nd wave of COVID-19 has been a major hindrance as far as regular academic work is concerned for students and teachers. With rapid rise in the number of Coronavirus cases throughout the country, CBSE and ICSE Boards have decided to cancel the Class 10 Board Exams while exams for Class 12 have been postponed. On similar lines, several state boards have also decided to postpone or in few cases cancel the upcoming Class 10 and 12 Board Exams in the wake of the pandemic. In addition to this, keeping health and well-being of the students as the top priority, schools and colleges across almost all states have been closed for regular or in-person classes. Online classes and remote learning is being carried out to ensure academic continuity.
