UP Schools, Colleges Closed: Uttar Pradesh Government has decided to extend closure of all schools and colleges in the state by one more week. According to latest media reports, the state government has ordered closure of all educational institutions in the state until 23rd January 2022. Earlier, the state government has shut-down schools and colleges in the state until 16th January 2022, which has now been extended by 1 more week.
Decision after Demands from Students, Parents
Several stakeholders, including parents and students were demanding extension in the closure of schools and educational institutions. With consistent rise in the COVID-19 case numbers, demand for extension in school and college closure was being voiced by several people. Considering these appeals, the decision to extend closure of UP Schools and Colleges by 1 week was announced by the state government today. The school and college closure in the state has been extended as safety, health and well-being of the students remain the first priority for the government.
Vaccination Camps, Online Classes for Class 10 and 12 Students
Along with closure of schools and colleges, the state government has also directed officials to ramp-up vaccination drive for children falling in the age group of 15 to 18 years. With UPMSP planning to hold UP Board Exam 2022 for High School and Intermediate Students in the coming months, it is important that all eligible children in the age of 15 to 18 years are inoculated. To this end, schools have been asked to organize special vaccination camps and Students have been permitted to be allowed to visit their schools to get vaccinated against COVID.
