RPET is commonly known as Rajasthan Pre-engineering test is conducted by Rajasthan board of technical education for admission in undergraduate courses in various colleges in Rajasthan. The brochure for the same is expected to be released in March 2014 and the examination will be conducted in the last week of May. The time duration of these is mainly 3 hours and there are three sections such as Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. There are 40 questions in each section and the types of questions are objective. In all there are 120 objective types of questions and students are provided with four options, out of which students are supposed to mark the right answer. Students cannot mark two answers at a time, as the answer will not be considered. However, if the students mark a wrong answer there will not be any kind of negative marking. The instruction of language will be either in Hindi or In English.

Another significant aspect is that of application form. Students can either apply online or offline. Online forms will be available on the official website from the second or third week of March 2014 and students can apply till the first week of April. There is certain eligibility criterion for the students and it is mandatory for the students to abide by the guidelines. The minimum academic qualification for admission to B.Tech/B.E program in Rajasthan is a pass at least with 45 % marks and 40 % marks in case belonging to SC/ST, OBC/ Non-creamy Layer SBC of Rajasthan state in the subject’s combination as given below taken together in the final examination of 10+2 of board of secondary education.

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01, 1989 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled casts, scheduled tribe, and physically handicapped candidates the upper age limit is limit is relaxed by 5 years. The examination is usually conducted in the first half i.e. from 9:00 am to 12:00 Noon. The examination would be conducted in centers such as Ajmer, Alwar, Banswara, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Sikar and many more. These examinations are not a cake walk. Students need to be extremely focused when it comes to clearing such entrance examinations. Persistence and determination are two keys to success.
